Petropavlovsk conducts all geological exploration in house via its specialized exploration company, Regis, which is headquartered in Blagoveshensk.

The Regis team is made up of over 850 highly skilled specialists with extensive exploration experience, complemented by local knowledge and expertise. The Regis team is led by Group Chief Geologist Nikolay Vlasov, who has worked for Petropavlovsk since its inception. He was instrumental in the discovery and development of Pioneer, Albyn, Malomir and Pokrovskiy and a number of smaller deposits.

Our exploration team uses effective exploration technologies and equipment and is supported by two fully accredited assay laboratories. These are capable of preparing, assaying and testing all required samples including environmental and geotechnical samples. Regis covers all our exploration activities, from ‘grass root’ early stage prospecting to detailed exploration, including geotechnics, hydrogeology and environmental base line studies. It also prepares mineral resource/reserve estimations in accordance with the Russian classification system and facilitates reserve approval in GKZ.
